My Wish List

Question: What is a Wish List?

Answer: A Wish List is a personal area of the website where you can save a list of your most desired Gamestation products!

Question: What would I use it for?

Answer: You can use it as a way of giving gift ideas to friends and family, or simply to remind you of items you?re interested in. You can also rank the items in your list and add comments for friends to read, or compile a list of favourite games to compare with theirs.

Question: Do I need to be registered to create a Wish List?

Answer: Yes, whenever you click any of the links to the Wish List you will be asked to log in or register.

Question: How do I add items to my Wish List?

Answer: When you look at an individual item on the website you will see a button marked ?Add to Wish List? which, when clicked, adds that item to your Wish List. A newly added item is shown at the top of your Wish List.

Question: Is my Wish List private, or can everyone see it?

Answer: Your Wish List is private by default, but you can make it visible to your friends by selecting this option in the Preferences box on the Wish List page. Once you have done this, everyone on your Contact List will be able to see it in the drop down box at the top of their Wish List page. Simply select ?List is visible to my contacts? in the visibility settings on the Wish List page.

My Friends' Wish Lists

Question: What is a Friend's Wish List?

Answer: This is a Wish List made by someone on your Contact List. You can see it by selecting it from the dropdown menu of Wish Lists shown at the top of the content area under the page title. You will only be able to select and view a Friend?s Wish List if they have elected to make their list visible to friends and also included you in their list of contacts. The same is true of your own Wish List; your friends can view it if you have made it visible to them and included them in your Contacts List.

Question: What is the Mailing List?

Answer: This is a list of the names and email addresses of your friends.

Question: What is the Mailing List for?

Answer: The Mailing List is exclusively linked to the Wish List and can only be accessed from there. It has two functions: the first is that you can send emails to people from your Mailing List to inform them about your Wish List. The email will be generated by Gamestation and includes a link that allows the recipients to view your Wish List. The Mailing List can also define who is able to view your Wish List. Friends can only see your list if you have set it to be visible to them, and if they are registered and logged in. You can manage this Mailing List of friends by adding new contacts, editing existing details or removing them from the list.

Sharing Your Wish List with your Friends

Question: What is the email sent to friends?

Answer: The email informs the people you selected about your Wish List. This facility can only be accessed from the Mailing List page and serves a single purpose; it can?t be used as a general email tool.

The message that is sent is constructed for you and contains a link back to the website to allow the recipients to view your Wish List. You can select one of your saved delivery addresses to inform the recipients where you would like gifts sent to.
