Where can I begin? Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, has an excellent campaign. The story is well thought out and you will become immersed in the world it sets out. The graphics are incredible, and even by more modern standards, it is one of the best looking games out there, it fells gritty and dark and especially in the sniper missions, you will become very tense showing you just what fantastic story-tellers Infinity Ward are. One last note is that it is varied and thus, you never get bored. However, despite its brilliance, there are some problems, the AI for both the enemy and your allies is good, but still heavily rely on you, and you will spend way too long dodging grenades. Also, it's short, VERY short.
The multi-player is this games selling point though. It has a lot of maps and guns and the entire thing is incredibly addictive. But for me, all of this was lost because of overpowered weapons, perks, and equipment. Which means you really don't need any skill.

i brought the game when the new maps were put in the game and the game is very addictive to play when the servers work, but sadly infinity ward havent got the servers right and im afraid in world at war they just made them worse.i still play cod4 as its a good online game when it works the new maps are brilliant and make the game even more challenging.i also love the ranking system as it takes a while to rank up and doesnt happen to quickly.i just hope they get servers right for the new modern warfare 2

There isn't much that can be said about Call of Duty 4 that hasn't already. With a high quality, albeit short campaign, the best multi-player action in a console game, and superb graphical detail, COD 4 is the best game currently out for the PS3. During the story, you switch from an SAS soldier ('Soap' Mactavish) to an American Marine (Sgt. Paul Jackson) and experience some gripping action. Intel can be collected to get 'cheats' and once the campaign is beaten, an Arcade Mode is unlocked. As a FPS, it cannot be beaten. Also, Captain Price is one of the memorable characters ever (just a small point). The online multi-player fight is even better. An ingenious rank up system is only a small part of the action. Unlockable weapon attachments, Create-a-Class mode, some of the best maps I have ever seen, plenty of addictive game modes and stunning graphics. Quite unbelievable, and Infinity Ward should be proud.
One of the greatest shooters ever made. As simple as that.

This game is a must have! Activision have thought of everything, from going up in ranks and earning more perks and extras to use, to the brilliant idea of making players find intel in the campaign to unlock cheats, instead of going on the internet to find cheats that, to be brutally honest, would make any game boring to play. Although short, the single player campaign is one that will keep you playing. Each level ends in such a way that you WANT to keep playing! As for the multiplayer and online play, just astounding. As i have said before, and i will say it again, this game is a must-have in your collection.

I bought this game on launch day. I only found this out a few days later, after I finished it for the 3rd time. The single player mode is dreadfully short, maybe 8 hours at best but it draws you in. You HAVE to see what the next mission is and where the plot is going. Once played through unlockables are gained, such as arcade mode and cheats for the intel collection.
Being British I did bond with the SAS more than the American Marines. Plus Cpt Price has got the best tash ever.
The multiplayer makes this game shine...brutal gameplay that is very frustrating, but another "go" is always needed. Custom classes, added perks, up to 32 players, 12+ game types and extra unlockables make this a deep and engrossing shooter. 100% needed in your collection.

This game has got to be one of the best army games at the moment, it goes down as a classic in my books and will give you hours of fun.
From the range of guns and the brilliant two player/online multiplayer, this game has a lot to offer with probably the best graphics there is this game really is unmisable.
