Red Faction: Guerrilla re-defines the limits of destruction-based game-play with a huge open-world, fast-paced guerrilla-style combat, and true physics-based destruction.

Every great game has that profound moment when you realise you're playing something special. In Red Faction Guerrilla it involved taking down an entire building brick by brick with just a sledgehammer. The damage system is amazingly realistic, the weight, speed and the inner construction of every object is taken into account. The entirety of Red Faction Guerilla is built around destruction. Most mission objectives involve taking down a building or two and some of the set pieces will see you gasping for breath. There are also fun side-quests dotted around the map outside of the main story. Red Faction looks good for an open world game and the game engine manages to handle the constant havoc and mayhem with very little slowdown. The shooting is solid and complemented with some imaginative guns and a simple cover system that works well. Overall Red Faction Guerilla is brilliant fun and will satisfy those looking for a polished and addictive open-world experience 9/10
