Saints Row The Third Product Details
Released on 18-Nov-2011.
No other game offers quite as much demented and tasteless open-world gaming – Saints Row: The Third takes the chaos of the old-skool Grand Theft Autos games and gives them a shiny new set of hubcaps!
Shy, retiring types might want to look away now because the cult third-person shooter Saints Row is back, packing even more murder, mayhem and cussing into the city streets of the all-new Steelport. Taking on a rival gang and its vice-like grip on the sprawling metropolis, fight your way through mad missions to become the city's new criminal kingpin in this ode to crazed, open-world gaming.
- Criminal Costumes – Homicidal cheerleader? Check! Jive-talking 70s throwback? Check! Demented cat-mask-wearing superhero-thing? Erm, check! Use the game's incredibly versatile character creator to make the most outrageous avatar imaginable. No moustache is too long, no hair is too big; let your imagination run riot before running riot in Steelport itself!
- Crime Lord – jack cars, take on the police, fly helicopters; the city of Steelport is your oyster as you carve up the streets, making a name for yourself
- Trivial Pursuits – aren't available in Saints Row: The Third. Apologies. Instead, call in airstrikes on Mexican wrestlers, experience sky-diving shootouts, and take a tiger on a sight-seeing tour without being ripped to pieces
- Team Terror – why not bring a friend along to smash up Steelport? Saints Row: The Third lets two player co-op together and take on the game, meaning twice the fun but more importantly, twice the carnage!

It's been a year since Oscar-winning director Guillermo Del Toro announced he was developing Insane, an ambitious horror game with THQ's Volition studio. The fruits of that labour are still several years from completion, but the mercurial Mexican has offered up some more teasing glimpses of what he has planned.
'We're really trying a lot of stuff that I don't think would even fly in the movies,' he told Wired magazine when asked about the level of horror and violence...I'm taking it little by little. I think it's going to be a fun, scary game. It's a maiden voyage into the medium for me. I'm learning a lot of stuff.'
Del Toro is now shooting his next movie, the giant monsters versus robots mash-up Pacific Rim, but will continue to develop the game during production. Volition most recently gave us the outrageous openworld crime caper Saints Row: The Third, released this week for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

Planning for Saints Row 4 already underway, THQ confirms
Fans eagerly awaiting the release next week of slapstick openworld crime caper Saints Row The Third will be pleased to learn that work or at least planning is already happening for a fourth game in the series.
The news comes from an interview with THQ head Danny Bilson which will air on US games show X-Play tonight. "I already know what Saint's Row 4 is about, and it is wilder than this one," Bilson told the show. "It's a good example of how you take what you have and you say, 'What can happen in the next?'"
It's hard to imagine what could be wilder than some of the footage already released from Saints Row The Third Nurse catapults! Cat masks! - but developer Volition seems determined to give it a try.
Saints Row The Third is out next week, on November 18th, for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. You can get a head start by downloading the free Initiation Station app and creating your characters now.

Legendary eccentric Japanese developer Tomonobu Itagaki will appear in Saints Row: The Third, it's been confirmed today.
Itagaki rose to infamy as the head of Tecmo's Team Ninja, where he oversaw the revival of Ninja Gaiden and bosomy beat-em-up Dead or Alive. He left Team Ninja in 2008, and is now working for Saints Row publisher THQ on Devil's Third, with his new company, Valhalla Game Studios. Itagaki will appear as a pre-rendered option in the character customisation options of Saints Row: The Third, wearing his traditional leather jacket and sunglasses.
He'll certainly fit in well with the game's cheeky confrontational style. This is, after all, a man who has publicly mocked rival titles such as Tekken, Bayonetta and Devil May Cry and once claimed that inferior fighting games would "give your fingers cancer".
You'll be able to join Itagaki for adventures on the mean streets of Stillwater when Saints Row: The Third struts onto PS3, Xbox 360 and PC on November 18th.

Saints Row, THQ's irrepressibly cheeky openworld crime game, has never been too worried about keeping things sensible or realistic. This is, after all, the game that lets you go into battle wearing a lime green thong or steal a sewage truck and spray poop all over the city of Stilwater.
For the third entry in the series, craftily titled Saints Row The Third, it looks like the lunacy will be amped up to an even more ridiculous degree. THQ has announced that everyone who pre-orders the game will receive a trio of bonus items, all of which are utterly demented.
It's all tied to an in-game Jackass-styled TV show called Professor Genki's Super Ethical Reality Climax, presented by a man in a giant cat mask. In honour of this multimedia spectacular, gamers who place their order before the game's November 18th release will receive a special an-a-pultvehicle which sucks up pedestrians and fires them into the air, a skintight stunt suit and an octopus cannon. Which shoots a live octopus at enemies. Of course.
Saints Row The Third is developed by the sick minds at Volition and will be splattering all over the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 in November. You should probably pre-order it. After all, you don't want to be the only one without an octopus cannon, do you?

The new issue of Game Informer is filled with glorious details regarding THQ's gritty and hilarious crime game Saints Row: The Third, and thanks to a write-up in Eurogamer, we've got all the facts for you right here.
Alongside some co-operative multiplayer stuff, the story will throw you right in at the deep-end with the Third Street Saints bungling a bank job, and the player character ending up a hostage in a private jet owned by a rival gang, and the bank's owner - a crew know as The Syndicate.
Fighting your way free - it ends badly for the jet, apparently - you parachute into the city of Steelport, where the game has you fighting to take over the metropolis and waging war against four other gangs. These gangs include a bunch of European nastiest, some drug-dealing Mexican wrestlers, hi-tech geniuses, and a crazy over-powered SWAT-type unit called the STAG, which stands for Special Tactical Anti Gang Unit. Tweaks to the formula include the ability to upgrade weaponry and speed up your actions with the L1 or LB button. Oh, and air strikes.
Saints Row: The Third is looking pretty good, then. The game's out this winter, and will be crash-landing on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. BAM.

The antidote to games that take themselves too seriously, THQ has now formally announced Saints Row: The Third. Guess what? It's the third game in the open-world crime series.
Veteran developer Volition will be back in the saddle, and the team's hard at work crafting a game for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 that will arrive "this holiday season" according to Eurogamer - so expect it around Christmas time.
Side-stepping the serious narratives, believable characters, and gritty drama of the GTA franchise in its more recent instalments, Saints Row is the cheesy and over-the-top open world action game, allowing you to blow things up, go on hectic killing sprees, and escape from prisons on jet-skis. The third instalment promises much more of the same.
"There's no delivering pizza, no shuttling family members about in a long series of taxi missions. Instead, you take all the power of the Third Street Saints and you take the world by storm," said THQ core games chieftan Danny Billson, suggesting we're in for a game that goes right for the jugular. If the series can keep up its action and its humour, and throw in enough new tweaks to keep fans and new-comers happy, it could have yet another hit on its hands.
